When in Hanoi, the dangerous train tracks are a must-visit hotspot!
Here are the most important schedules and tips!!!
⏰ Train Schedule (Based on Old Quarter)
Trains run several times a day, but the schedules vary on weekdays and weekends, so be sure to check before you go. I also check train schedules, but every blog and website has different times. So, here are the times I've compiled. We arrived at the time listed below, sat down at a restaurant, and were able to see the train shortly after. And then we even got to see the train coming from the opposite direction!
📍 Weekdays (Mon-Fri)
• 7:00 PM / 7:45 PM / 8:45 PM / 9:30 PM / 10:00 PM
📍 Weekends (Sat, Sun)
• 8:30 AM / 9:30 AM / 11:30 AM
• 3:20 PM / 4:30 PM / 5:30 PM / 6:00 PM / 7:20 PM / 7:45 PM / 8:45 PM / 9:15 PM
💡 Tips
• Arrive at least 20-30 minutes early to secure a seat.
• Weekend morning trains are less crowded, allowing for a more leisurely ride.
📝 How to Enjoy the Hanoi Train to the Fullest
1. Check the schedule in advance – Weekdays and weekends are different, so be sure to double-check!
2. Arrive earlier than expected – for a good seat and more leisurely viewing. 3. Choose a Cafe Location
4. Stay Safe – The train is right in front of you.
5. Enjoy Local Cuisine – Banh Xeo and Local Beer for a Lively Moment!
