Wanfoshan Scenic Area is located southwest of Shucheng, 140 kilometers from Hefei and 60 kilometers from the Shucheng Wanfo Lake Scenic Area. It covers a total area of ​​50 square kilometers. Comprising five areas: the Wanfoshan Qingshou Temple, a plantation, a leisure resort, a nursing home, and a bird park, Wanfoshan boasts a rich Buddhist culture and beautiful natural scenery. It is a leisure destination that combines Buddhist culture with tourism, leisure, entertainment, and residential living, offering a return to nature. Wanfoshan Scenic Area is rich in flora and fauna, boasting 147 families, 658 genera, and 1,368 species of vascular plants. Among these are 25 nationally protected plants, such as the fragrant fruit tree and the silver hazel. Over ten other nationally protected animals, including the musk deer, leopard, and giant salamander, are also home to the area, creating a natural treasure trove of species.

Wanfo Mountain Scenic Area boasts a 95% forest coverage rate and high levels of negative oxygen ions. It is a National AAAA-level tourist attraction, a National Forest Park, a National Geopark, and a National Nature Reserve. Its main peak, Laofoding, stands at 1,539 meters above sea level. It is the ancestor of the Shu (Cheng), Tong (Cheng), and Qian (Shan) Mountains, and faces Tianzhu Mountain (1,485 meters) to the south. Wanfo Mountain's main peak, Laofoding, resembles the majestic Maitreya Buddha seated in a circle in the southwest. Surrounded by peaks, it forms a scene where Buddhas worship their ancestors. The mountain is named Wanfo Mountain because of the numerous Buddhist temples and a stone plaque proclaiming "Ten Thousand Buddhas Famous Mountain." Another theory derives its name from the natural wonder of the "Ten Thousand Buddhas Mountain" perched atop a precipitous cliff.
