To get to the summit of Mt. Misen, the sacred object of worship, the observation deck, and the main hall of Mt. Misen, you can either take the ropeway or hike up the mountain.

It takes about 30 minutes to walk from Miyajima Pier.

On the way there, it's a wonderful time to walk through the forest while listening to the murmuring of the river in Momijidani Park.

You will need to change gondolas, from Momijidani to Kayadani, and from Kayadani to Shishiiwa.

The view of the Mt. Misen primeval forest from the gondola is impressive, and the view of the Seto Inland Sea is impressive!

You also can't miss the spectacular view from the Shishiiwa Observatory. Coming to Miyajima is often thought of as being synonymous with Itsukushima Shrine, but the original sacred area of Miyajima is Mt. Misen, so it's a power spot you definitely want to visit!
