World Cultural Heritage - Itsukushima Miyajima Shrine, Five-story Pagoda, Senjyukaku

If you want to reach the other side of the large torii gate at Itsukushima Shrine before high tide
You need to take the JR Sanyo Main Line to JR Miyajima Exit before 7 am
The ride takes about 30 minutes (so you can plan your arrival time by yourself)
After arriving at JR Miyajima Exit, walk about 6-7 minutes to JR West Miyajima Ferry Terminal and transfer to Miyajima Ferry to Miyajima (this section is free with JR pass)
But remember to buy the island entry fee
Around 8 am, the sea water will slowly rise, and in about 20 minutes the center of the large torii will be filled with sea water.
You can start your visit at Itsukushima Shrine, then visit the Five-Storied Pagoda and Senjokaku.
The interior of Senjokaku is a wooden structure left over from the Toyotomi Hideyoshi era.
Walking inside, you can admire the ingenious craftsmanship of the past craftsmen.
It makes people respect that era even more.
If you want to get closer to the Great Torii after high tide, you can take a human-powered wooden boat to visit the shrine (but please note that the last boarding time varies every day)
The boat will pass through the large torii gate twice, and the ride takes about 20 minutes
After the boat ride, you can stay in Miyajima and continue to enjoy the trip (the deer in Miyajima are much more docile than those in Nara)
At around 4pm, head to the ferry port to take the ferry back to Hiroshima (if you are lucky, you can see the beautiful sunset)
💰Per capita consumption: Human-powered wooden boat for worship is about 1,500 yen
💞Recommendation reason: The Torii in the sea is very shocking
