Take a ferry to Miyajima Island and visit the stunning shrine

⛩️ Miyajima Island, officially known as Itsukushima Island, is a sacred island famous for its floating shrine, the Itsukushima Shrine, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Japan's three most beautiful views.

🦌 On this island, you'll encounter numerous deer roaming freely as they are considered messengers of the gods. They are calm and friendly towards visitors.

🚶♀️ Follow the signs to the shrine, where a wooden pathway stretches over the water, leading to the red shrine that contrasts beautifully with the blue sea.

⛩️ You can see the large torii gate standing in the water. During low tide, you can even walk up to the torii gate.

🍁 After visiting the shrine, you can explore the island, which has many shops and souvenir stores. The local specialties include freshly grilled oysters and Momiji Manju, a maple leaf-shaped pastry filled with red bean paste, which is a must-try here.
