Hidden in Hiroshima, the beautiful island of Miyajima

A charming little island filled with deer 🦌😍

As soon as you step off the ferry, you'll see four or five deer lounging leisurely by the roadside, looking so relaxed!

Walking along the coast for less than ten minutes, you'll come across the majestic Itsukushima Shrine and the giant torii gate standing in the sea. Don't be fooled by photos that make it look small; it's actually 20 meters tall!

Once you step into the shrine, you'll be captivated by the neatly arranged vermilion pillars, exuding a sense of solemnity and mystery! It's also incredibly photogenic 😍😍
⚠️ The shrine has a one-way route, so please follow the rules and don't disrupt the flow!
However, the admission ticket allows unlimited entries on the same day, so you can always go back for another visit!

After leaving the shrine, you can start exploring the shopping street!
The shopping street is just a short stretch, but it's packed with restaurants offering plenty of choices! When in Miyajima, you must try the fresh oysters 🦪 with a squeeze of lemon and soy sauce. They're incredibly fresh and sweet, with no fishy taste at all! Absolutely amazing!

For those who love hiking, Miyajima offers three trails to climb the mountain! There's also a cable car, but make sure to check if it's operational beforehand. When we visited, it happened to be under maintenance 🧰

The scenery on the return ferry ride is also breathtaking 😍 The distant mountain ranges paired with the sea painted red by the sunset create a world bathed in gentle hues 🎨

All in all, Miyajima is truly a delightful little island with great food and fun activities 😍
