Just got back from Hefei with my 5-year-old, and this itinerary is guaranteed to tire out your little one while letting you snap amazing photos! Enjoy limited-time spring scenery for about 300 yuan per person. Even my husband wants to go back again!
🌸Top 3 Family-Friendly Spots
1️⃣ Luogang Park|An Urban Picnic Paradise
13,000 acres of sprawling lawn, perfect for flying kites and rolling around! Black swans on the central lake will swim right up to you if you have bread. Bring a tent and bubble machine for some enchanting photos of your child chasing bubbles under the cherry blossoms. You can capture perfect picnic pictures while relaxing.
2️⃣ Hefei 1972|A Trendy Paradise Built in a Former Prison
Highly recommend the mini steam train (20 yuan/person). The chugga-chugga ride past the graffiti walls is super cool! The Sound Museum in the old factory buildings is fascinating; press the buttons to hear the sounds of old Hefei.
3️⃣ Four Seasons Flower Sea|A Rainbow Carpet of Tulips
In early April, 300,000 tulips are in full bloom, like a painter's palette splashed across the landscape! Teach your kids to take overhead shots with their phones, using the flower sea as a backdrop. Solid-color hoodies look great in photos.
🍔Kid-Approved Food
✅ Guanting Road Snack Trio:
• Brother Hei's Egg Pancake: The freshly baked crust is incredibly flaky, and adding pork tenderloin is only 7 yuan.
• Double Fried Chicken Legs: Two huge legs for 13 yuan, the cumin flavor is so good you could eat it for three days straight.
• Sushi Stand Original Roll: Purple rice wrapped around pork floss and cucumber, healthy and filling.
💡Pro Tip: Buy a cup of Kawangka Mango Jasmine Tea to cut through the richness of the snacks.
🎒Mom's Tips|Avoid the Pitfalls
1️⃣ Luogang Park is packed on weekends! Arrive before 9am on a working day for ample parking.
2️⃣ Mosquitoes are abundant at the Four Seasons Flower Sea. Mosquito repellent patches and long pants are more effective than mosquito repellent spray.
3️⃣ The indoor exhibits at Hefei 1972 are air-conditioned, so bring a light jacket for your child.
4️⃣ Guanting Road food stalls open at 4pm, don't show up at noon expecting to find anything.
5️⃣ Bring a stroller! Hefei's parks have stone paths, making a stroller much easier than a baby carrier.
🌟Cultural Gems|Fun and Educational Activities
1️⃣ At Hefei 1972's Appliance Museum, have your child look for TVs from their grandparents' generation.
2️⃣ Take the subway to Kaifu Temple to see the red walls and plum blossoms, and tell your child that the mythical creature on the eaves is called "Qifeng Xianren" (Riding Phoenix Immortal).
3️⃣ Buy succulents at Haihui Flower Market and let your child choose their own pot to develop their aesthetic sense.
