Looking for a less crowded yet photogenic spot this autumn? Don’t miss Naizi Valley Colorful Forest Valley in Heishui, Sichuan! In Tibetan, its name means "beautiful and fertile." Along the 40+ km road, both sides are covered with colorful forests—layers of coniferous and broadleaf trees. In autumn, the sunlight makes it look like a spilled palette, earning it the nickname "Eighty-Mile Gallery." Best of all, it’s free to visit, and you can drive and stop freely at your leisure.
📍 Must-visit 3 hidden gems
1. Qicai Jiazu: The outer walls of the Tibetan village are painted in vibrant colors, and the stone houses are very distinctive—perfect for photo shoots. It’s only 3 km from Dagu Glacier, making it very convenient to stay here;
2. Yangrong Hade: The "Most Beautiful Tibetan Village in China" is no exaggeration! Newly built Tibetan-style houses stand against a backdrop of larch forests. Mornings bring mist, evenings bring cooking smoke, and every shot of the colorful forest from the village looks like a painting;
3. Gansiba Village: Find the famous rowan tree! The sunlight on the tree is especially vivid. Standing under it, you can gaze at the snow-capped mountains and overlook the entire Naizi Valley, creating a full oil painting effect.
✅ Super comfortable experience
• For a great stay, choose Gar Manor: Located on the mountain opposite Yangrong Hade, it’s a renovated old Tibetan village with both Tibetan charm and modern facilities. You can watch the colorful forest right from your room;
• Don’t miss Luolico on the way: A small lake by the road where the colorful forest reflects in the water. Stop for a few minutes to take photos—your social media will explode with likes.
⚠️ Travel tips
1. Driving from Chengdu takes 5.5 hours. It’s recommended to combine this with Dagu Glacier and Kalong Valley for a 2-3 day trip to enjoy more;
2. Western Sichuan is very cold in autumn and winter mornings and evenings. Even if the sun is out at noon, bring a thick jacket to avoid freezing;
3. There are parking and viewing spots along the way. Don’t park randomly on the roadside—safety first.
No need to pay an entrance fee, you can leisurely stroll through 40 km of colorful forests, stay in Tibetan villages, and enjoy snow-capped mountains. Who could resist such an autumn?
