Climb to the highest peak of Mount Hengshan on foot

At 8 am, we started to enter the Hengshan hiking trail from Shenglifang behind the Nanyue Temple, and walked uphill to the Kangjialong ticket gate to buy tickets (¥110)

Walk up along the stone steps of the stream from the Fanyin Ancient Trail. The scenery in the front section is pretty good, but the ancient trail was cut by the road built later, and it would occasionally cross the road and then go back into the woods, so there was not much scenery to see. We accidentally followed the signs and walked to the steep slope shortcut in the forest with a mixture of dirt roads and stones to Nantianmen. We walked about 40 minutes on the stone steps to the highest peak of Nanyue, Zhurong Peak (1,300 meters above sea level), about 10 kilometers one way, it took 5 hours to reach the top

The weather was very hot, I was sweating all the way, and my whole body was soaked. Unfortunately, the clouds were very thick, and the views of the peak and several viewing platforms such as Nantianmen were foggy

The return trip was roughly down the mountain along the original route, but the route was not clearly marked, and I kept switching between the driveway and the stone steps in the forest. It took more than 4 hours to get back to the starting point, Shenglifang, and it took almost 10 hours to go back and forth
