Next up is Ulan Butong, which I consider to be the best place to enjoy autumn.

Autumn in Ulan Butong is irresistibly charming. The colorful scenery is like an oil painting, and it's easy to lose yourself in it. To experience this autumn fairy tale, I drove for six hours. Golden birch forests, red and brown plants, and yellow haystacks are all dazzling.

😘Haystacks: There are many haystacks rolled up by herdsmen along the way before entering the scenic area. It's a great place to take photos, and it's free.
😘Hama Dam: This is the best place to enjoy panoramic views of Ulan Butong. Herds of cattle, horses, and sheep, windmill flower seas, and the colorful plains and hills in the distance are spread out before your eyes.
😘Birch Ridge: Next to Hama Dam, there are golden forests all over the mountains. You can go into the forest to take close-up shots and enjoy a golden leaf shower.
😘Princess Lake: The lake, poplar forest, and log cabin together form a fairy tale world. It's also a great place to watch the sunset.
😘Colorful Mountain: Most people go to the observation deck to enjoy the view, but I prefer the colorful forest on the mountain. In the sunset, walk in the forest and dance in the world of gold and red.
😘Donggou Photography Base: This is a mysterious place on the Ulan Butong Grassland, a quiet valley on the yellow grassland. As the road is all dirt and there are not many tour groups, you can camp, daze, picnic, and take photos here. But the road is not very good.
💌Tips:
1. It's really cold at night, so wear more clothes.
2. The accommodation conditions in Ulan Butong are very general, so be sure to bring all toiletries.
3. If you drive by yourself, be sure to choose a four-wheel drive off-road vehicle. The road conditions on the grassland are complicated, and there are many dirt roads and pits.
