Reverse Travel|Hezhou in the off-season truly has no rivals...
Who says traveling has to be crowded?
In the off-season, Hezhou’s mountains and forests are silent, and the ancient towns are leisurely,
which is the true meaning of returning to travel.
.
📍Gupo Mountain
The largest natural oxygen bar in South China
✨Popular check-in spot
▫️Xiangu Waterfall|Like a "white dragon" rushing out from the depths of the dense forest, the water is pure and cool
Fangjia Tea Garden|The filming location of "Tea is the Deepest Feeling of Hometown," there is a wooden house halfway up the tea garden where you can try the local specialty sweet vine tea🍵
▫️Lovers' Forest|Trees grow in pairs, nestled by the mountains and water, perfect for couples to stroll
▫️Jiupu Xiang Distillery|Filming location of "Wine is the Richness of Hometown," where you can taste rice wine brewed with Gupo Mountain’s spring water🍶

.
📍Jade Stone Forest
A unique landscape formed by white marble stone pillars, even more mysterious when fewer people are around. Walking through it feels like entering a forgotten alien world lost in time.
✨Check in at Yixiantian, feel the romance of walking a single path alone to the end.
.
📍Dazhongshan Park
Offers a panoramic view of Hezhou city. At sunset, the sun bids farewell to the city, the tall buildings reflect golden afterglow, creating a stunning picture together with the layered mountain peaks.
.
📍Zhongshan Ink Wash Park
Without the hustle and bustle of peak season, this place reveals the most rustic rural poetry. The contiguous rice fields change their attire with the seasons: tender seedlings dye the ridges green in spring, golden waves roll to the horizon in autumn. Occasionally, farmers lead oxen across the ridges, their reflections in the ponds by the fields look like a flowing ink painting.
.
📍Yongfeng Lake
The lake surface is like a mirror, reflecting distant mountains and ancient pagodas. Strolling slowly along the lake and watching locals leisurely fishing—that’s the slow pace a small town should have.
.
📍Huangyao Ancient Town
In the off-season, Huangyao Ancient Town finally returns to its poetic charm. In the early morning, wait for the morning mist on Dailong Bridge; in the afternoon, quietly listen to the wind under the Dragon Claw Banyan; at night, only the whispers of red lanterns and stone paths remain. Every moment is worth savoring slowly.
.
📍Dongtanling
This is an excellent viewpoint overlooking the entire Huangyao Ancient Town panorama. It’s worth getting up early to climb the mountain before sunrise—you might enjoy a visual feast of sea of clouds, sunrise, and peak forest all shining together alone.

🏡Recommended Stay|Aishu · Huangyao Academy
📍Building A604, Longmen Street, Huangyao Ancient Town, Zhaoping County
▫️The guesthouse retains the white walls, black tiles, and courtyard of Lingnan architecture, blended with modern minimalist design, merging ancient and modern with rich meaning.
▫️In the afternoon, you can cozy up in the bright book bar to read a few pages, or sit by the courtyard pond watching the warm sunlight scatter into light spots on the water, brewing a pot of tea to hold leisure in your hands.
▫️The 12 rooms each have their own charm, warm light wraps the soft beds, air conditioning and heating dispel the chill, and opening the window reveals ancient town black tiles or green mountains, even your breathing slows down.
