Asahidake, the most worthwhile place to visit in Hokkaido

I saw someone post a while ago saying their family's favorite spot is Asahidake. I absolutely had to visit it on this road trip. While the cable car is a bit pricey at around NT$700 round trip, it's totally worth it! There weren't many tourists, just professional climbers. And in August during summer vacation, the wind was incredibly cold up there. #Hokkaido #Asahidake #AsahidakeClimbing
The naive people thought we were taking the cable car to the zoo... (Thought it was the cat cable car to Muzha Zoo?!) The 13-16 degree Celsius wind was so cold it hurt my ears. I peeked at everyone else and saw they were fully equipped for hiking. Some of us were even foolishly wearing cool jackets 😅 There were even signs on the mountain indicating when bears had been spotted and where the emergency areas were... Wow, that added to the excitement! But even us little limbs couldn't hike this far into the mountains~

Everyone who hiked had a cowbell hanging from their backpack. It rang all the way. I even bought one myself 🙄

Facing this magnificent view, we walked what should have been an hour, but it took us almost two hours.

I really loved it here; there were almost no tourists. Although the cable car ticket is expensive, it's definitely worth it!!!

The ramen at the Takayama cafeteria was incredibly delicious 😋

The temperature difference from the mountain descent to Asahikawa Zoo was over 18 degrees Celsius!! It was so hot that everyone rushed to the indoor area to cool down.

We quickly finished seeing the featured animals.

The evening BBQ show was absolutely delicious! 😋
The meat was of high quality, and we ordered all the beef tongue until it sold out. It was so delicious that we couldn't stop exclaiming. Even the rice balls 🍙 were so good! 🥹

I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Furano.
