A Journey Through the Ruins of Azuchi Castle

The ruins of Azuchi Castle are truly a spot worthy of being called a "phantom castle." Additionally, at the nearby "Nobunaga no Yakata" (Nobunaga's Hall), the 5th and 6th floors of Azuchi Castle's main keep have been reconstructed at full scale, offering a chance to experience the opulent interior decorations. For access, it's recommended to walk or rent a bicycle from JR Azuchi Station. Cycling while feeling the breeze from Lake Biwa is incredibly refreshing. The scenery changes with the seasons, so enjoying the cherry blossoms in spring or the autumn foliage adds an extra layer of charm.
