A must-see attraction in Hirosaki is the Aomori Bank Memorial Hall, a Renaissance-style Western-style building. Its rooftop features a decorative tower that doubles as an observation deck, and the apex is adorned with a stupa, a characteristic of Indian temples.

This building was a new bank at the time, designed by Horie Sakichi, a leading figure in Western-style architecture at the time and the designer of Dazai Osamu's former residence, the Shayokan.

The building, adorned with white and mint green, is elegant and beautiful. The interior is open to the public, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in the classic décor. The most striking feature is the beautiful gold-colored paper adorning the ceiling. Numerous historical banknotes and currencies are also on display.
