Hiroshima - Atomic Bomb Dome

The Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Dome (Genbaku Dome) is a historic site located in the heart of Hiroshima City. It marks the vicinity of the hypocenter of the world's first atomic bomb, dropped on August 6, 1945, just about 160 meters away. Originally known as the "Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall," the building was hosting an exhibition at the time of the explosion. While the structure was almost entirely destroyed, the steel framework and dome remnants remained standing. Today, it has been preserved as a symbol of world peace and the abolition of nuclear weapons.
