I stopped by the small town of Hita during my Kyushu trip. Unlike the bustling city, it had a charming, quiet, and rustic atmosphere. I wandered through the alleyways and browsed the charming souvenir shops. The uniquely Japanese sensibility of the items was truly beautiful. 🎐
As I walked, I stumbled upon a street vendor selling yakitori (grilled chicken skewers)! 🍢 It felt like a small food truck, and seeing the locals lining up, I decided to give it a try. A bite of the smoky-scented yakitori melted away all my travel fatigue, and I realized this is the true joy of exploring Japanese back streets. 😋.
Hita isn't flashy, but it's a town where you can leisurely stroll and find small pleasures, so I think it'll be a memorable experience.
