Independence Palace, also known as the Reunification Palace, was formerly the residence of the President of South Vietnam and the military command center. It holds great historical significance for Vietnam as it marks the end of the Vietnam War. This was the site where Northern troops captured Saigon and raised their flag over the palace, leading to the successful reunification of the country.
Today, the palace is open for visitors to explore its interior, which features beautifully preserved reception rooms and offices. Some areas have been maintained in their original state from the wartime era to serve as historical reminders of significant events, such as the President's office and the underground war command center.
