Floating Through Life at the Mekong Delta

My trip to the Mekong Delta was like stepping into a calmer, slower rhythm of life — a peaceful escape from the buzz of the city.

We started with a boat ride along the Mekong River, drifting past lush green landscapes, floating houses, and local boats filled with fruits and goods. The water may be brown, but the life around it is colorful and full of character.

One of the highlights was visiting a local village, where we got to see how coconut candy is made (yes, I bought a few packs!) and taste freshly harvested tropical fruits while enjoying traditional Vietnamese folk music.

We also hopped onto a small sampan boat that took us through narrow canals shaded by palm trees — it felt like a scene from a movie. Quiet, serene, and so close to nature.

The Mekong Delta shows a different side of Vietnam — one that’s deeply connected to the river, rich in culture, and wonderfully warm in hospitality.
