Slow Streets Life☕ in Ho Chi Minh

Spent a chill first trip in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and honestly, just went wherever the day took me 🌴✨. The best parts? Savoring local beef pho, checking out a canvas drawing class to intentionally slow down, and just soaking up the city vibes.

Want to take things easy like I did? Here’s my low-key Ho Chi Minh guide!

Must-Do Experiences:
1. Beef Pho Feast 🍜
Seriously, you can’t leave HCMC without slurping up a bowl of beef pho. The best spots are often street-side stalls — look for busy ones near Ben Thanh Market (Le Loi, Ben Thanh, District 1, open 6am-late). A pro tip: Add a squeeze of lime and toss in the fresh herbs!

2. Canvas Drawing Workshop 🎨
Unwind with a painting session! Local art studios around District 1 offer walk-in canvas classes (shoutout: Tipsy Art Studio on 143 Nguyen Dinh Chieu, open evenings till late). It’s such a good way to step off the tourist treadmill and tap into your creative side.

3. Go With the Flow 🛵
Don’t over-plan! Grab a coffee (try a phin drip at The Workshop, 27 Ngo Duc Ke), watch scooters zip by, and let the city take you anywhere — markets, rooftop bars, hidden alleys, all fair game.

Getting Around:
Motorbike taxis (use local apps!) are cheapest and fastest. Walking is totally fine in District 1, but watch out for wild traffic when crossing!

Dining:
Stick to local street food for the real deal — look for bustling carts and plastic stools. Besides beef pho, banh mi and fresh spring rolls are a must.

Key city tips: Carry VND cash, it rains randomly so toss a poncho in your bag, and the best season to visit is Dec-March for cooler weather.
