The Saigon Centennial General Post Office (Vietnamese: Buu Điện Trung Tâm Sài Gòn), also known as the Saigon Central Post Office, is located in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, adjacent to the Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral. It was built between 1886 and 1891 during the French colonial period and officially opened in 1892.
It serves as the General Post and Telecommunications Office and was also the first post office during the French colonial period.
It is not only a famous landmark in Ho Chi Minh City, attracting many tourists, but it is still in operation, and many visitors come here to send postcards to friends and family.
In addition to postcards, there are also many Vietnamese souvenirs available for purchase on both sides of the post office.
It was once named one of the most beautiful post offices in the world by the world-renowned architectural design magazine, Architectural Digest.
The large round clock above the main entrance has continued to operate for a century.
The interior is decorated with numerous arches, creating a very pleasant symmetry. #hochiminh #vietnamtravel #vietnamtrip #hochiminhtrip #hochiminhtravel
