Returning to Japan for a second time, I decided to explore the enchanting region of Hokkaido, a place of serene landscapes and vibrant culture.
My journey began at Shikotsu Toya National Park, where the raw beauty of nature took center stage. Lake Toya, with its calm, mirror-like surface, was a breathtaking sight, perfectly reflecting the surrounding mountains. The tranquility of the area was a soothing escape from the bustle of city life.
Otaru, with its historic canal and charming old buildings, was a highlight of my trip. The town’s nostalgic atmosphere, coupled with its famous glassware and music boxes, made for a delightful experience. A visit to the Chocotopia Factory added a sweet twist to the adventure. Watching the intricate process of chocolate-making, and of course, tasting the end results, was pure indulgence.
Shibazakura Park was another visual treat, with its fields blanketed in vibrant pink moss phlox. The sight was nothing short of magical, as if walking through a living painting.
My exploration of nature continued at Ryusei Falls, where the powerful rush of water cascading down the rocks was both awe-inspiring and humbling.
Each location in Hokkaido offered a new perspective on the beauty of Japan, from its serene lakes and vibrant flowers to its historic towns and delectable treats. This trip deepened my fondness for Japan, and exploring Hokkaido has left me with memories I’ll cherish forever.
