Hokkaido-March is unexpectedly magical, with fewer tourists and snow still blanketing the landscape

A relaxed, budget-friendly trip around Hokkaido, using public transport to explore charming towns and stunning scenery at my own pace.

TIPs:
1. Buy Hokkaido Sapporo-Furano area pass for easy access, Noboribetsu not included in this pass, but you can always check with the ticket counter, there might be surprised.
2. To visit lonely Christmas tree, just drop by the tourism center beside Biei station, they have local tour bus to visit all the attraction with affordable price, with tour around 4.5hours.

Place to visit:
Sapporo: Snow-covered streets and dazzling night views from Mt. Moiwa.

Asari Station: A peaceful, quiet stop surrounded by snow and the sea — where the waves meet the winter chill.

Otaru: Romantic canals lit by gas lamps and fresh seafood delights.

Biei: Iconic Lonely Christmas Tree, Blue Pond, and icy Shirahige Waterfall.

Noboribetsu: Volcanic Hell Valley and a soothing natural footbath (free) in the forest.

Takino Suzuran Hillside Park: Budget skiing fresh powder and admiring frozen Shiribetsu Falls.
