The beauty of Lantau Island (Tai Tung Shan)

The mountains and plains are covered with dazzling golden colors. Every autumn and winter, it is the time to appreciate miscanthus in Dadong Mountain.

Sunset Peak is the third highest mountain in Hong Kong. It is located east of Phoenix Mountain and west of Ertung Mountain on Lantau Island. It is separated from Phoenix Mountain by Pok Kung Au.

Tai Tung Shan is the third highest peak in Hong Kong. It is not a beginner’s route. If you follow what others say and rush up the mountain, accidents may easily occur. The following are some instructions for climbing Dadong Mountain to see miscanthus. I hope everyone will make sufficient preparations before setting off and enjoy the fun of hiking in the mountains.

There are three main routes to climb Dadong Mountain, each with its own difficulty and difficulty. They are:
Go up the mountain along Fenghuang Trail from Bo Gong Au (easier),
Climb up the mountain along the Phoenix Trail from Nanshan (more strenuous),
From Tung Chung, follow the Wong Lung Hang Country Trail up the mountain (more strenuous).
