If anyone has a plan to travel to Hong Kong by themselves, press the record button. We will tell you how to travel by public transportation.
- Buses and minibuses are like Hong Kong's public buses. They are large buses with 2 floors. If it is a line that goes from the airport or is going to the airport, there will be space to put your bags. The bus clearly displays the destination sign and it is in English. Don't be afraid to get off at the wrong place. It is very convenient.
How to get on: Get on at the front and pay the fare with an Octopus card or Visa card. When you reach the bus stop, press the bell and get off at the back.
- The MTR is a transportation that is distributed throughout Hong Kong. It is easy and fast to travel. The disadvantage is that it is very far to walk (at some stations). I recommend downloading the MTR app for convenience in checking the map from the starting point to the destination.
Use the Octopus card to pay or buy it from the machine per leg.
- Tram (TRAM) is a transportation that provides services only on the Central side. It is not available on the Kowloon side. The fare is quite cheap, about 2-3 HKD per person throughout the line. It stops at every stop and is very frequent. The tram has 2 floors. You can pay with an Octopus card or cash. You have to prepare the exact amount. No change.
How to get on: Get on at the back and get off at the front and pay the fare.
- UBER is an app that calls for a ride based on your needs. It can be a private car or a taxi. The advantage is that it saves time, is fast, and you don't get tired from walking far. The price is based on the distance.
