Before coming to Hong Kong, I saw many people recommending the must-eat bakehouse egg tart. When I arrived at the Hong Kong airport, I saw many people holding bakehouse paper bags. It turned out that they have super popular egg tarts👍.
Bakehouse is a bakery founded by Gregoire Michaud, a chef who was formerly the pastry chef at the Four Seasons Hotel. He has 25 years of experience in the baking industry and possesses extensive qualifications and experience.
Bakehouse has many branches in Hong Kong. We were disappointed at the Tsim Sha Tsui branch at first, but according to the guide, the Causeway Bay branch was the easiest to buy. As soon as we arrived at the Causeway Bay branch, we saw a long queue. After entering, we saw a variety of breads, desserts, egg tarts and drinks. The choices were rich and they all looked very tempting! We immediately took out a box of egg tarts to bring back for our family. The original egg tarts do not contain pork, so you can safely bring them back to Taiwan💛!
The Bakehouse egg tart has a different crust from the traditional Hong Kong-style egg tart. It is more like a Portuguese egg tart, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a rich milky aroma. It is very delicious😋, and it won’t feel greasy even if it is left cold. But we also put it in the oven and bake it a little bit. The baked egg tart has a unique crispy feeling and a fragrant milky aroma. My family members are all very happy to eat it. The only regret is that I only bought one box because it is too little🤣!
