Hong Kong 3 Days 2 Nights Super Efficient No-Detour Guide

Walking 30,000 steps on a Hong Kong trip, here’s a super practical guide to share with you! We departed from Nanjing, landed in Hong Kong at noon, and started an exciting itinerary.

Day 1: Tsim Sha Tsui—Mong Kok—Yau Ma Tei—Tsim Sha Tsui—Victoria Harbour

After landing in Hong Kong, take the cross-border bus A21 directly to Tsim Sha Tsui. The nearby Hong Kong-style tea restaurant serves amazing food, don’t forget to check in! After checking into the hotel, take the MTR to Mong Kok. The popular photo spot in Mong Kok is on the footbridge, but it’s crowded and backlit, so photos might not turn out well in bad weather. Follow the navigation from Mong Kok to reach Yau Ma Tei Police Station without any detours. Then walk along Nathan Road back to Tsim Sha Tsui. In the evening, head to Victoria Harbour; don’t wait until it’s completely dark to enjoy the night view—the scenery is even more charming then! Tsim Sha Tsui at night is full of lively street vibes, with the aroma of fried skewers and beef brisket everywhere. The giant grape drink from 7-Eleven, which you can’t find in Mainland China, has a slightly sweet taste that’s amazing—definitely try it!

Day 2: Tsim Sha Tsui—Harbour City—Tsim Sha Tsui—Kennedy Town—Central—Sunset Rollercoaster—Tsim Sha Tsui

The lighting in Harbour City isn’t great, making photos prone to backlighting. If you want to check in at the upstairs coffee shop, it’s not easy to find, so remember to ask the mall staff. Kennedy Town has many photo spots; exit from MTR Exit C and find the football field for great photos; turning left from Exit C leads to unique coffee shops; walking all the way to the seaside you can take photos with landmarks. After shooting photos, try the new popular eatery favored by Eason Chan and JJ Lin—delicious and unforgettable! (The store accepts HKD payment.) Central is known as the “foot-tiring place,” but the Fringe Club (Exit D2), the pink graffiti wall (Exit D2), and the Central Market clock (Exit C) are all worth visiting. Walking along the Central–Mid-Levels escalator, you can reach the Ferris wheel. Near the Ferris wheel at Pier 6, take the Sunset Rollercoaster H1 bus back to the Peninsula Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui. We took the 5 PM bus; the sea breeze was strong, so be sure to prepare for the wind!

Day 3: Return

Since the direct flight from Hong Kong to Nanjing didn’t fit our schedule well, we chose to stay one night in Shenzhen. On the last day, take a taxi from Tsim Sha Tsui to Hong Kong West Kowloon Station. Note that extra fees apply for luggage.

Super Practical Tips:

1. Hong Kong trips are very tiring on your feet, so be sure to wear a comfortable pair of shoes!

2. Red tones and oversized style clothes are perfect for Hong Kong streets—the more casual the outfit, the better the photos!
