I almost missed the Yau Ma Tei Tin Hau Temple

At first, I didn’t see any appealing photos online, so I was glad I finally decided to come. I was a bit hesitant at first, thinking it was just a small place and not that great, but actually, it wasn’t like that at all 🎀
When I was taking photos, the temple staff said no video recording was allowed. I didn’t quite understand the difference between taking photos and recording videos, but since it’s inside a temple, I didn’t dare to use a tripod, so all the close-ups are a bit awkward. The blogger is really afraid of being kicked out XDDDD
Because it was pouring rain when I arrived, the yellow light inside contrasted strongly with the blue sky outside, enriching all the color details. No filters were used, but it looked better than a natural filter. I avoided the statues of the gods where incense was burning.
Critique: The Mazu statue was a bit offensive, sorry, but when I saw it, I really wondered if Mazu herself agreed to have her statue look like that 😂 There’s a super tiny bronze guillotine here XD It’s hard to tell if it’s a dog or a tiger 😂
Finally, the Polaek ash perfume really smells like the scent inside the Tin Hau Temple—I really want that scent ❤️
Transportation: Close to Yau Ma Tei MTR station. After visiting here, you can conveniently head to Miao Dong 👣
