San Babila, an Exotic Western Restaurant in San Po Kong

Today, a friend took us to a hidden gem restaurant in San Po Kong. The orange exterior wall🧡 at the entrance is very eye-catching. Inside, there are Turkish and ethnic decorations, creating a strong exotic atmosphere.

▫️ Baked French Fundy Oysters🦪 $218/half dozen
We chose the yuzu baked style. The oysters are very fresh with a hint of seawater flavor, the meat is extremely fresh, and the fat content is just right. The top layer is baked with yuzu and cheese, giving a fresh yuzu aroma. The baking time is perfect, preserving the oysters' fresh and juicy texture, which is pleasantly surprising👍.

▫️ Pan-seared Foie Gras with Slow Cooked Dish $188
The plating is very attractive, and the foie gras is thick. The pan-seared surface is slightly crispy, and the inside is rich in juices. There are two pieces of crispy toast at the bottom, along with pear and mixed vegetables as sides, making it a high-quality choice both visually and in taste.

▫️ Slow-cooked 48-hour Spanish Suckling Pig🐖 $288
The suckling pig is slow-cooked for 48 hours. The skin is roasted to be crispy while locking in the tender meat inside. The color is bright, with a clear distinction between fat and lean parts. Served with olive salsa, it’s very appetizing😄. This is also the signature dish here🍽.

▫️ BBQ Sauce Grilled Pork Ribs with Fries🥩 $98
The portion is just right. The rich sauce blends perfectly with the aroma of the pork ribs. Crispy on the outside and tender inside, very flavorful. Paired with crispy fries, it’s very satisfying😋.

▫️ Onsen Egg Carbonara Pasta🍝 $108
The onsen egg blends with the carbonara sauce, and each strand of pasta is evenly coated with olive oil, making it fragrant and smooth.

▫️ Crispy Calamari Rings $68
The outer layer is crispy without any greasiness, perfect for pairing with drinks🍷🍺.

▫️ Soup
Borscht soup, rich in flavor with a slight spiciness. It’s been simmered for a long time, topped with a bit of herbs for extra aroma and texture. Makes you want to have another bowl😂.

Sorrento Creamy Lemon🍋
Sorrento lemons are a specialty of Italy, famous for their strong aroma. Combined with cream as a dessert, it’s both refreshing and smooth👍😋.
Tiramisu
Smooth Panna Cotta
These desserts are of hotel-level quality.

Finally, we enjoyed a rich latte with latte art☕️, which was perfectly satisfying.

That evening, we happened to meet the restaurant owner and learned that the food consultant and chef also come from five-star⭐️ hotel staff, so the food quality is held to high standards. They also have a selection of Italian wines, and we chose two bottles to taste that day.

We really love the atmosphere here. The chandeliers and Turkish mosaic lamps on the walls are the focal points of the shop. The dim lighting combined with the orange walls and hand-drawn chalk writings create a very romantic vibe. The counter also has ethnic and wine decorations, adding color to the place. The seating is not many, making it a quiet and perfect spot to sip wine and chat🍷.
