Take a 15-minute boat ride directly from Sai Kung Pier 🚤
The intertidal sandbar that only appears at low tide, Kiu Tsui Chau 🏝️
Then after less than an hour of mountain trails
Arrive at Xiamen Bay on the other side, which consistently ranks top for water quality ✨
There are many boat operators at Sai Kung Pier to choose from, just pick any one
Boat fare: Round trip to Kiu Tsui Chau $30, round trip to Xiamen Bay $40
Get off at the first stop, Kiu Tsui Chau, to reach the intertidal sandbar
On the day of the visit, the tide was low and the water was very clear
You can see granite rocks that look like pineapple buns 🔍
You can walk along the geological trail to Kiu Tau
💡 Be sure to check the low tide time before departure
You can refer to the Geopark website or the Observatory
Then you can head to Xiamen Bay
Hike up the mountain trail beside the beach
The trip takes about half an hour to an hour
The route is simple and not difficult but very sunny ☀️
There are many photo spots and artworks along the way
Xiamen Bay (also known as Sam Sing Wan) is very lively on weekends
Facilities here are complete, with convenience stores and barbecue areas
If there are many people, allow time to rinse off
The water remains very clear and is among the best in public beaches 👍🏻
The last boat back is at 18:30; just find the corresponding boat operator at the pier to board
**If you don’t want to hike, you can only choose to get off and return from one side
The beach on Kiu Tsui Island also has clear water and fine sand, and the boat fare is cheaper
It also has public beach facilities
