Kowloon City "$99 Chicken Hotpot & Grilled Fish Buffet" - Typhoon Hits Hong Kong, Eat Until You’re Full!

#

Saw the new $99 chicken hotpot and grilled fish buffet at Dengdeng Hea, which also includes skewers and Taiwanese snacks. I thought, "So cheap? Could it be a rip-off?" But after eating, I really have to say—it's unbelievably worth it!

🍗 Chicken Hotpot + Grilled Fish, Double Hit
Chose the Taiwanese spicy chicken hotpot; the chicken is tender, the sauce rich with a sweet and spicy flavor, not too salty, and you can get unlimited chicken refills! Added $30 to upgrade to sauerkraut grilled fish; the fish has few bones, the sauerkraut broth is appetizing, and the tofu soaks up all the flavor—delicious! A friend said, "Grilled fish included for $99? Even cheaper than a cha chaan teng!"

🍢 Skewers + Snacks, Full Taiwanese Flavor
Skewers are grilled to order; the pork belly skewers are crispy and fragrant, the small beef skewers rich in beef flavor, plus salt and pepper chicken and tempura, all fried crispy without greasiness. The biggest surprise was *Ah Zong Mian Xian* (Taiwanese vermicelli), paired with chili sauce, really gives that Taiwanese night market vibe! The dessert *handmade taro balls* are chewy, with a fragrant coconut base, leaving you wanting more.

🍲 Hotpot Mode, Great Value Add-ons
After finishing the chicken hotpot and grilled fish, switch to hotpot! The $199 deluxe set also includes *Angus beef chuck tender* and *Australian Wagyu brisket*, with good meat quality, especially the brisket bursting with buttery flavor. A friend joked, "All-you-can-eat crab roe xiao long bao for $199? Is the owner Taiwanese and doesn’t know how to count?"

🍻 Beer + Bubble Tea, Refreshingly Awesome
Add $18 for unlimited *Tsingtao beer* and Taiwanese drinks; bubble milk tea and lemon winter melon tea are all unlimited refills. A friend said, "Just drinking the beer alone is worth it!"

📍 Environment + Service
The shop is small, seating isn’t very spacious, but it’s clean. The staff are quick, no waiting for dish changes or soup refills.

Postscript
Eating so much for $99 with good quality is truly a "time-travel price"! But 88 minutes is a bit rushed; I recommend choosing the $199 deluxe set to enjoy slowly. If you book for 4 or more people, you even get a free seafood platter—so worth it it’ll make you cry!
