Sheung Shui Kwu Tung Reservoir - Hidden Heart-Shaped Lake Check-in Spot🩵

If you find Hong Kong boring, this time I’m sharing a spot that’s a bit farther but still quite easy and quick to reach for a check-in. Turns out Hong Kong has a heart-shaped lake too.

Before you go, you absolutely must spray mosquito repellent because there are really a lot of mosquitoes, especially near the lake. So it’s recommended not to get too close to the lake. It’s best to go to the high ground of Kwu Tung Reservoir Ridge to overlook and check in at Kwu Tung Reservoir! Maybe because there are fewer people and it’s close to water, even after spraying mosquito repellent all over, I still got bitten. The mosquitoes are really vicious.

When you reach the top of Kwu Tung Reservoir Ridge, you’ll see some railings. We climbed up around the wire fence, which is a bit dangerous because the original rope was broken, but you can hold onto some branches. Please be careful.

Postscript: When we passed by Kwu Tung Village, there were many guard dogs that were quite fierce, but surprisingly, we found two cats eating cat food on a tin roof. Cat lovers might want to take note.

Route: Sheung Shui Station > Bus 76K / Minibus 50A > Kwu Tung Market > Kwu Tung Reservoir Pit Public Toilet > Kwu Tung South Road > At the fork, turn left to Kwu Tung Reservoir (optional) > At the fork, turn right to Kwu Tung Reservoir Ridge (Kirin Hill) > Return the same way

Total length: About 1 km

Duration: Around 1 hour round trip

Hiking and outdoor fun Great spot Check-in
