“Sukiyaki Kansai” focuses on Kansai-style sukiyaki, and they have opened a branch in Tsim Sha Tsui. As soon as you enter the store, you’ll see a giant Wagyu model, very impressive! The staff arranged a counter seat for me, with a pot for each person to cook their own sukiyaki. The menu offers several different cuts of Wagyu beef for grilling. This time, I ordered two types of meat to try!
🔸 Japanese Black Hair Wagyu Chuck Tender Sukiyaki Set (Large) $258
🔸 Premium Lean Sukiyaki Set (Regular) $168
The Wagyu chuck tender has a beautiful color with evenly distributed marbling, rich beef flavor, tender and juicy texture. The homemade sukiyaki sauce paired with the Ran-Oh egg yolk makes it even more delicious. The lean cut has relatively less marbling but still has a strong beef flavor, with a soft and delicate texture, making it a great value choice!
Each set includes an appetizer, assorted vegetables, Ran-Oh egg, Japanese rice or Sanuki udon, and dessert, quite generous! The assorted vegetables include shiitake mushrooms, tofu, tofu skin, green onions, baby bok choy, and taro threads, with many options to add to the sukiyaki sauce or kelp broth according to your preference. This time I chose Sanuki udon, which absorbed the sukiyaki broth very well and was delicious with a chewy texture! The dessert includes two pieces of warabi mochi, chewy and tasty.
