Jizhou Ancient Yuyang

Tianjin Jizhou District is the location of the ancient Yuyang Commandery. Within its old city area, besides Dule Temple, there is also Baita Temple. Baita Temple was first built in the fourth year of Qingning of the Liao Dynasty (1058) and is part of the Dule Temple complex. In 2013, it was listed as a national key cultural relic protection unit. The temple is famous for its entirely snow-white brick pagoda, which stands 30.6 meters tall and has an octagonal floor plan. It combines pavilion-style, multi-eave, and inverted bowl architectural styles. The pagoda body is decorated with Buddhist verses, brick carvings of musical figurines, and Han dynasty warrior statues, with 24 copper bells hanging from the eaves.
