📝 My Flyboarding Lift-Off at Deep Water Bay

#hkwatersports
If you’ve ever dreamed of feeling like Iron Man — without the whole saving-the-world part — flyboarding might be your ticket. I headed to Deep Water Bay to try this futuristic water sport, and wow… my legs have never felt so confused and excited at the same time. 😆💦

📍 Getting There
• Took the MTR to Admiralty Station
• From Exit C1, hopped on Bus 6, 6X, or 260 to Deep Water Bay
• The flyboarding pier is just a short walk from the beach entrance

⏱️ Travel time: ~40 mins from Central
💰 Transport cost: ~HK$10–15

💸 Price & Session Info
• Flyboarding session: HK$1,200 for 30 minutes, HK$2,000 for 1 hour
• Price includes jet ski driver, gear, and life jacket
• Wetsuit rental: ~HK$50 (optional)

🚀 The Experience

The instructor strapped my feet into a board connected to a long hose, which shot high-pressure water from a jet ski. At first, I kept face-planting into the sea after a few seconds — the trick is to stand straight and let the water do the lifting.

By the third attempt, I was hovering above the waves, arms out like a superhero. The view from up there was surreal — blue water stretching to the horizon, and the beach crowd looking tiny below.

I even managed a little dolphin dive, plunging into the water and shooting back up. Landing… well, let’s just say it wasn’t graceful. But the rush was unbeatable.

⚠️ Tips for First-Timers
• Keep your knees slightly bent for better balance
• Don’t try tricks until you can hover steadily
• Morning sessions often have calmer water and fewer crowds
• Go with friends — watching each other wipe out is half the fun

⭐ Final Thoughts

Flyboarding in Deep Water Bay is pure adrenaline mixed with awe. It’s not the cheapest water sport, but it’s one of those unforgettable “bucket list” experiences that will make you feel like you’re flying. Just be prepared to swallow some seawater in the process. 😂💦
