Staying at the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong felt less like checking into a hotel and more like stepping into a legendary story. This is one of the city’s most iconic luxury hotels, right in the heart of Central, overlooking Victoria Harbour.

📍 Location & Arrival
The location couldn’t be better — directly on Connaught Road in Central, surrounded by skyscrapers, the harborfront, and luxury shopping arcades. It’s walking distance to The Peak Tram, the IFC Mall, and the Star Ferry pier, so it’s extremely convenient whether you’re sightseeing or on business.
The moment I arrived, the staff greeted me by name (they must have checked the car plate or reservation in advance) and quickly helped with luggage. The lobby smelled faintly of orchids and felt elegant yet warm, with polished marble floors and quiet jazz playing in the background.

🛏️ Room Experience
I stayed in a Harbour View Room (around USD 800+ per night). As soon as I walked in, the curtains automatically drew open to reveal panoramic views of Victoria Harbour — ferries, junks, and skyscrapers glittering across the water.
The room design is a mix of classic and contemporary: dark wood furniture, silk cushions, and modern amenities like a large flat-screen TV, fast Wi-Fi, and touch-panel controls for lights and curtains.
The highlight? The bathroom — huge marble tub by the window, stocked with luxury toiletries, and a shower with rain and massage settings. After a long day outside, soaking in that tub while watching the skyline lights was heavenly. 🛁✨

🍽️ Dining & Food
The Mandarin Oriental is famous for its food, and it truly lives up to the hype:
• Man Wah (Michelin-starred Cantonese) – I had dim sum here for lunch. The har gow (shrimp dumplings) were delicate, and the Peking duck was crispy perfection.
• Pierre Hermé Patisserie – for afternoon tea, I enjoyed pastries crafted by the world-renowned chef.
• The Chinnery – cozy bar with an old British gentlemen’s club vibe, serving excellent whisky.
Breakfast at the Clipper Lounge was also fantastic, with a buffet featuring both Western and Asian options — I started my day with fresh fruit, congee, and smoked salmon.

💆 Facilities & Service
The spa was a highlight of my stay. I booked a 90-minute Oriental Essence massage — the therapist was highly skilled, using warm oils and firm pressure that left me completely relaxed.
There’s also a fitness center with harbour views, a pool, and private lounges for business travelers.
But the service stood out the most:
• Staff remembered my preferences (green tea in the morning, a softer pillow)
• They offered to book taxis and even provided a small paper map with marked walking routes
• At turndown service, they left a handwritten note and small chocolates on the bedside table

💸 Price
