🇭🇰 October Gulangyu Cruise Hong Kong-Miyako Island Happy Experience

Departure Port: Kai Tak Cruise Terminal
Vessel: Gulangyu (a cruise ship under China Travel Cruise Lines, featuring strong Chinese characteristics)
Destination: Miyako Island, Japan

1. First Impressions of the Ship:
Chinese Characteristics: As a Chinese national cruise brand, Gulangyu's décor incorporates numerous Chinese elements, such as the Silk Road and Fujian Tulou, making it very familiar to Chinese tourists.
Tonnage and Size: Approximately 70,000 tons, it's a mid-sized cruise ship. It's well-equipped but not too large to get lost, making it perfect for first-time cruisers or families.

2. Accommodation:
Room Options: Enjoy the Leisure Suite. Enjoy the ocean breeze and sunrise and sunset in privacy, elevating your experience to a whole new level. Room Facilities: Clean and tidy, L'Occitane toiletries are excellent.

3. Dining Experience (Foodies' Pick!):
The à la carte menu at the Peninsula Restaurant is delicious, and the buffet is also excellent (see pictures).
✔ Two main restaurants (Peninsula and Oriental): Both restaurants have the same menu. Admission is free, but there's a line during peak hours. The ordering system is small, with unlimited refills.
✔ One buffet: Free and open for extended hours, it features an all-you-can-eat dining experience. While the menu isn't extensive, it's the most diverse and varied on board.
✔ A hidden gem: Eat at the buffet after dining in the main restaurant.
The meat in all three restaurants was average, but the flavor was quite good, making it worth the price. The captain explained that none of the dishes are pre-prepared; they're all cooked daily by the chef.

4. Entertainment and Activities:
· Performances: The Constellation Theater hosts large-scale performances every night, featuring singing, dancing, acrobatics, magic, and more. The quality is excellent and worth seeing.
· Public Facilities: Swimming pool, jacuzzi, gym, basketball court, mahjong room, karaoke, duty-free shop, and more. Themed Activities: Various activities are organized onboard, such as dance classes, craft classes, and game competitions, ensuring you never get bored.

5. Service and Atmosphere:
Service: The crew is primarily Chinese, ensuring seamless communication and prompt service.
Atmosphere: The overall atmosphere is relaxed and lively, like a floating resort on the sea.

PS: The suite's executive lounge is amazing! 👍
