On October 16th in Guangzhou… I finally captured the Luanshu tree described by Shi Tiesheng

“A single Luanshu tree is a grand autumn spectacle”🍂
I finally got some beautiful photos of the Luanshu tree for my kid in Guangzhou.

Luanshu trees are rare in Guangzhou, and even rarer are those suitable for portrait photography.
This tree fulfilled my dream of photographing a Luanshu.
Looking up, clusters of pink and pale yellow seed pods hang like little lanterns on the branches.
Kids standing under the tree can easily be photographed.
Bringing a ladder 🪜 helps get closer to the Luanshu tree~

If you're lucky, you might also encounter some adorable goats 🐐🐐.

📍 Directions: Dongchongkou, after reaching the riverbank, turn right and walk straight for 100 meters, then take the first right turn. You can spot the Luanshu tree from afar by the roadside.

🚇 Subway: Line 4, "Qingsheng" Station, then take a taxi. The area is quite remote, and it might be hard to get a taxi back.
🅿️ No parking available, only roadside parking.

Nearby, there is also a large sunflower field 🌻.
📍 Directions: Guangzhou Dongchong Guantan Agricultural Park.
The sunflower field is huge. The area near the parking lot has withered, but if you keep going forward, there are two large sections in full bloom. It’s best to visit early in the morning.
