Hong Kong short trip

Just landed in Hong Kong with the kids and top on our list was Ocean Park’s Grand Aquarium in Aqua City 🐠 - easily one of the coolest family-friendly spots in town! The kids went wild spotting sharks, rays, and all sorts of colorful fish—definitely recommend grabbing a window spot at the giant dome for the ultimate up-close sea life view. Pro tip: Snap a selfie at the panda information sign (look for the rock wall backdrop) – it’s not just cute, it's a fun break before diving back inside the aquarium action!
Must-See Places at Ocean Park:
- Grand Aquarium, Ocean Park Aqua City
Address: 18 Ocean Park Road, Wong Chuk Hang, Southern District, HK SAR
Open: 10:00-19:00 (closed Tuesdays)
Insider tip: Visit before noon for shorter lines at the touch pool and dome! The outdoor areas can get sunny but also sometimes cloudy or rainy—so stash an umbrella/poncho in your day pack. If you want a snack break, Aqua City Bakery has fresh bread and local pastries just steps from the aquarium entrance (perfect refuel for energetic kids!).
Getting Around: Take the MTR to Wong Chuk Hang station, exit B then walk about 10 minutes (or use the Ocean Park free shuttle).
Food: 👨👩👧 The bakery’s pineapple bun was a big hit! For lunch, Neptune’s Restaurant overlooks the main tank—unforgettable meal with a view.
Ticket tip: Book directly via trip.com for better family deals and smoother entry.
Weather: Pack layers—Hong Kong can flip from hot and sunny to rainy fast!
