✅️Depart from Chengdu👉Arrive at Yanu Lake in 3 hours
✅️Book a lake view room at a hotel along Yanu Lake to enjoy the sunset over Yanu Lake and Mount Wawu. It's worth staying overnight at Yanu Lake to see the snow-capped mountains on the opposite side.
✅️Yanu Lake is a 30-minute drive from Mount Wawu Scenic Area. You can stay near the scenic area.
✅️Depart from the hotel and arrive at the scenic area in 30 minutes. Queue at the entrance.
✅️First cable car: Queue for about 2.5 hours to take the first cable car at 8 am. You can see many monkeys and interact with them.
✅️Second cable car: No need to queue. Go directly to the top of the mountain. The best views are at the top of the mountain. Absolutely stunning.
✅️There are small shops on the mountain selling instant noodles, grilled sausages, and corn. There are not many food options, so it's best to bring your own snacks. Free hot water is available.
✅️Queue for the cable car to go down the mountain at 4:30 pm. This is the busiest time. Queue for 2.5 hours to go down the mountain and return to Chengdu.
‼️It's sunny in the morning and at noon, but foggy and cold at 4 or 5 pm. Keep warm.
‼️Buy a round-trip cable car ticket. The road is slippery and the weather is cold for hiking down the mountain.
