Day 1: Arrive by plane, pick up your car, and check into your hotel.
Accommodation 🏨: We chose to stay near Waikiki. The hotel had many pools of varying sizes, and the ABC store right outside was very convenient. Later, we moved to another hotel. After visiting the Big Island, it felt very convenient to have a shopping mall right outside, and we could finally enjoy room service.
Day 2: Pearl Harbor Memorial
At the Pearl Harbor Memorial (reservations required for the USS Arizona Memorial), some of the exhibition halls don't require reservations and are quite interesting. You can spend about half a day there.
All-inclusive tickets cost about USD 90. You'll need to take a bus shuttle to get between the different halls. There are indoor and outdoor areas, as well as a museum.
Day 3: Polynesian Cultural Center
The center has 6 cultural villages, each with performances, handicraft demonstrations, interactive activities, and evening performances.
Different tickets 🎫 include different levels of buffet meals. You can also purchase a tour guide service. The tickets allow you to visit the park for three days, so you can come back if you don't finish exploring it all.
Day 4: Royal Hawaiian Golf Club
It really feels like playing golf in Jurassic Park. The scenery is super beautiful 😻. We even saw a group of wild boars 🐗 passing by.
Note ‼️: There is a dress code. You must wear a collared shirt, preferably a polo shirt. Be sure to bring sunscreen and insect repellent, because there are many small mosquitoes that leave very large bites, haha. I kept getting bitten as I played. You'll also lose a lot of balls, so if you're a beginner, bring extra balls. You can rent clubs in advance from outside for more choices and lower prices.
Day 5: North Shore to see the beautiful ocean, swim 🏊, see sea turtles, and visit the Dole Pineapple Plantation
🍍 If you don't have kids, I don't think it's necessary to play in the maze or ride the train at the pineapple plantation. Just get some ice cream.
To see sea turtles, they usually appear before 3pm, and you can only see them when the weather is good. It was cloudy when I went, so I didn't see any 👀.
Address: Laniakea Beach
There is a particularly photogenic and clean beach 🏖️ where you can swim. There is a net that blocks off the beach, so you won't swim out too far. It feels relatively safe, and the sand is super clean and fine. It's a great place to take pictures 📷 even if you don't swim.
Address: Kailua Beach
Day 6: Shopping and City Walk
🛍️ Ala Moana Center
🛍️ International Market Place
🛍️ Royal Hawaiian Center
🛍️ Waikiki Shopping Plaza
