• Driving by yourself:
Starting from Hualien City, drive north along Provincial Highway 9, turn onto Tongmen Bridge, and arrive in about 30 minutes.
• Public Transportation:
Take the Taiwan Railway to Hualien Station. After exiting the station, you can take a taxi to Tongmen Bridge, which takes about 30 minutes.

📝 Personal experience

Emerald Valley, located in Tongmen Village, Xiulin Township, Hualien, is a secret place hidden in the mountains and forests. The entrance is inconspicuous and requires passing through a dark tunnel. It is recommended to bring a flashlight for lighting. After passing through the tunnel, walk along the gravel path and you will reach the waterfall area in about 20 minutes.

The waterfall cascades down like a curtain of water. The water is crystal clear and the deep part presents a natural emerald green lake color. The stream water is cool and refreshing, making it a great place to cool off in the summer. In addition, there are lush trees along the way and the trail is not very undulating, making it suitable for the whole family to go together.

Although the Emerald Valley is no longer a secret place, it still retains its original beauty. Please protect the environment, do not leave garbage, and work together to preserve this natural beauty.
