Hualien｜Calling all taro lovers~

After having lunch at a nearby fishing port, I checked the map and found a place selling taro cakes. Luckily, it was open, so I decided to give it a try.

Located in an alley, you can park your car in the roadside parking spaces and walk in—it takes less than two minutes. The walls are adorned with posters of various taro products, and there's a doorbell to call the owner.

The Purple Rice Taro Cake has a slightly chewy texture from both the purple rice and taro, but it lacks the distinct taro aroma. It needs to be refrigerated, though refrigeration makes the purple rice a bit harder.

I preferred the Pure Taro Ball. Its taro texture is smoother and less chewy. Definitely worth a try if you get the chance!
