Hualien General Mansion is an important official building during the Japanese colonial period. It has been revitalized and transformed into a characteristic small market, integrating old Japanese architecture and cultural and creative elements. Both the appearance and atmosphere are very Japanese. My friends and I thought it was great, very suitable for taking pictures, in addition to the beautiful environment, we also found a variety of cultural and creative products, snacks and restaurants here, especially suitable for us who want to slowly visit Hualien and take pictures ❤️
Recommended tour routes and must-play items:
Turn into Lane 622 from Zhongzheng Road. Inside, you will see antique Japanese-style wooden houses. You can slowly walk along the garden and appreciate the overall architectural style. It is recommended to start taking pictures from the front yard, with wooden doors, cafes, and craft shops, every corner is full of nostalgia. After walking around, choose a specialty restaurant to sit down and try Hualien local cuisine or dessert (small shops usually select local ingredients, you can rest assured), then go to the most popular cultural and creative shop now to look for souvenirs, handmade pottery, fabrics, postcards are very characteristic.
Photo Spot Recommendations:
1. The exterior and entrance of the General's Mansion: The retro wooden walls have a sense of story, and the photography has a super Japanese feel.
2. In front of the cafe and small shop door: Wooden windows with window seats, take pictures with friends, feel slow and elegant.
3. Japanese garden: The paths in the garden, mossy stone paths, and under the shade of trees are great for picnics or photography to capture the hipster atmosphere.
Tips:
1. The General’s Palace is open all year round (09:00–17:00), but on Saturdays and Sundays it is open from 14:00–17:00
2. Recommended weekday departure, relatively few tourists, can slowly check in.
3. Driving is not recommended
