Dragging a small suitcase to Biancheng Chadong, this ancient town hidden in western Hunan is so healing! No crowded crowds, only quiet river water, stilted buildings, and simple local life~
✨Must-visit spots:
1. Qingshui River Boat Tour: For just 20 yuan per person, you can take a boat through the junction of Hunan, Guizhou, and Chongqing provinces, watching the stilted buildings on the shore slowly recede—super photogenic🚣
2. Cuicui Island: The island recreates scenes from the novel "Border Town," with the white pagoda and millstone here, and you can also see the prototype of "Lala Ferry" described by Shen Congwen! Remember to bring a copy of "Border Town" for photos, it feels amazing📖
3. Ancient Wharf: Best to come here at dusk to watch fishermen haul in their nets, with the river surface bathed in the sunset glow—any shot looks like a movie still🌅
🍜Food recommendations:
- Jiao Jiao Fish Hotpot: Local specialty! The fish meat is tender without any muddy smell, about 50 yuan per person to eat until full
Address: Old brand at the crossroads in Chadong Town
- Rice Tofu: 3 yuan a bowl, drizzled with chili oil, super appetizing
Address: Any riverside snack stall, no risk of disappointment
💡Tips:
1. For accommodation, it’s recommended to choose a riverside stilted building guesthouse; in the off-season, you can stay in one with a balcony overlooking the river for 150 yuan
2. The scenic area combo ticket for 45 yuan includes Cuicui Island + boat tour, very cost-effective
3. There is a direct bus from Jishou, taking only 1.5 hours to get here
