Walking into the ancient city of Huizhou, I was struck by the majesty of the Chaojing Gate at first sight.
The thick city tower stands quietly on the banks of the Dongjiang River, like a guardian who has experienced wind and rain.
It has witnessed the rise and fall of Huizhou for more than 600 years. ✨
Stepping onto the bluestone steps, the wooden railings by the handrails carry a faint woody fragrance, the sound of footsteps and the breeze intertwined into a little tune. Climbing to the top of the city tower, the river is shining in the sun, and the West Lake is sparkling in the distance.
All the beautiful scenery can be seen at a glance. 😍
