Swimming, Cycling & SUP : Active weekend

If you’re not into lazing around on crowded beaches and prefer an active, dynamic weekend, here’s a great plan for a fun-filled stay in Huizhou’s Silver Beach.

I recommend renting an apartment in one of the garden communities along the coastline, like Parc Lane. Start your day with a visit to one of the pools early in the morning when it’s less crowded (don’t forget your swim cap!). Then head to the beach for a refreshing dip in the sea—if the water is clean enough.

For meals, Jojo’s Cafe and Bar is a must-visit: we had breakfast, lunch, and dinner there. In the evening, don’t miss the happy hour—it’s perfect for enjoying a beer or cocktail 🍹

When the sun is less intense, rent a bike and ride along the seaside and mountains from Le Méridien Hotel all the way to the nearby Golden Coast Beach—a truly scenic route.

Sunday morning is ideal for paddleboarding (if the waves are calm). You can rent a board on the beach for 200 rmb. Go out early, around 6-7 a.m., when the temperature is cooler and the sea is tranquil. Spend the rest of the day relaxing on the beach.

If you’re leaving Huizhou, try to start your trip early to avoid the usual heavy traffic in the evening.

Enjoy your active weekend! 🏊🏻♀️🚴🏼♀️🏄🏽♀️
