This mountain (altar) was where King Wu of Zhou led his army to attack King Zhou and held a pre-war oath-taking ceremony at Muye in the suburbs of Shang. Historical records show that the princes' soldiers sealed it with earth. This is the place where the oath was taken as recorded in "The Book of Documents: The Oath of Mu". It is also the only physical evidence on the surface of the earth where King Wu's army held the Battle of Muye.
Rich in cultural heritage, it dates from the Longshan and Shang and Zhou dynasties and is a key cultural relic protected in Henan Province. Ancient sites such as the "Princes' Martial Arts Field," "Princes' Well," "King Wu of Zhou's Horse Drinking Pool," and "Jiang Taigong's Review Platform" are intertwined with the mountain (or altar), forming a timeless landscape that evokes the battle scenes of Muye and explores its ancient past.
