Zhenbao Island is located in the northeast of Hulin City, on the Chinese side of the main channel of the Ussuri River. It is about 100 meters away from our shore and more than 300 meters away from the Russian shore. It covers an area of ​​0.6618 square kilometers. The island is higher in the south and lower in the north. Zhenbao Island has been Chinese territory since ancient times.

The famous Zhenbao Island, finally got a glimpse of it today. Zhenbao Island is located in Hulin City, Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province, on the Chinese side of the center line of the main channel of the Wusuli River, the Sino-Soviet boundary river. It is named Zhenbao Island because it looks like a gold ingot. This originally unknown island became famous at home and abroad because of the Battle of Zhenbao Island in March 1969.

On April 27, 2005, the National People's Congress approved the "Supplementary Agreement on the Eastern Sector of the Sino-Russian Boundary"; on May 20, 2005, the Russian State Duma voted to approve the agreement, and the entire 4,300-kilometer-long border between China and Russia was confirmed. According to the agreement, Zhenbao Island belongs to Chinese territory.
