Sheraton Huzhou Hot Spring Resort:
**Check-in Date:** May 1, 2025 - May 3, 2025
**Room Type:** Deluxe Lake View Family Room
**Rating:** ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ (4.5 stars, slightly dated facilities deducted half a star)
Came for the iconic architecture but was won over by Taihu Lake sunsets and family-friendly experiences! Truly living up to its "Moon Hotel" nickname, the night views are breathtaking, offering a full-on vacation vibe!
### Hotel Design
* The unique "ring" design (Moon Hotel) is eye-catching, standing out as the most dazzling landmark by Taihu Lake day or night—perfect for photos.
* **Stunning Lake Views:** Boasts prime Taihu Lake views with open vistas that soothe the soul. Golden sunsets over the lake are especially therapeutic.
* **Family-Friendly:** Well-equipped for kids, making it a great short getaway option for families in the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai area.
* **Resort Atmosphere:** Escapes city noise, features hot springs (a big plus!), and is ideal for relaxation.
## 🛏️ Stay Experience
* **Unbeatable Views:** Highly recommend **lake-view rooms**! Floor-to-ceiling windows face Taihu Lake—watch sunrises, sunsets, and shimmering waters from bed, even spotting Suzhou's skyline. Nighttime light shows reflecting on the lake are ultra-romantic!
* **Room Amenities:** Spacious, well-laid-out rooms. Classic five-star standards with decent upkeep—some wear (e.g., hardware, carpets) but overall clean and comfy. The window-side bathtub with lake views is a unique treat. Toiletries are standard Sheraton fare.
* **Service:** Friendly staff, solid concierge service. Holiday crowds may slow efficiency.
## 🍽️ Dining
* **Breakfast (Feast Signature Restaurant):** Diverse spread of Chinese/Western options, quality fare. Local snacks, live egg/noodle stations. Must-try: their *jianbing guozi*. Window seats offer great views.
* **Other Restaurants:** Multiple choices (Chinese, Japanese, buffet). Tried **"Cai Yue Xuan" Chinese Restaurant** (Cantonese/lake seafood)—fresh ingredients but average flavors. Upscale ambiance/service, slightly overpriced. **"Xuan" Lounge & Bar** has great nighttime vibes for drinks and views.
## 🎡 Leisure (Family Highlights!)
* **Hot Spring Center (Must-try!):** Stay includes dual-access! Indoor/outdoor pools, especially the **lakeside open-air pool**—soak while admiring Taihu Lake and hotel lights. Clean water, varied temps. Dedicated kids' pool for fun. Bring swimsuits!
* **Kids' Club (Surprise!):** Basement-level **"Xuan Yi" Club** is bigger/more fun than expected—ball pits, slides, climbing frames, role-play zones, arcade games... Modern, well-managed, keeps kids busy for hours. Parent-free bliss!
* **Gym & Indoor Pool:** Top-notch facilities with great views—fitness buffs or swimmers won’t be disappointed.
* **Light Show:** Nightly timed displays (ask front desk) turn the hotel into a dazzling screen. Best viewed from lakeside paths or Fisherman’s Wharf bridge.
## 📍 Location
* **Prime Spot:** Heart of Huzhou Taihu Lake Resort, facing the lake.
* **Walkable:** Adjacent to **Fisherman’s Wharf**—plenty of eateries (especially lake seafood), cafés, and shops. Perfect for evening strolls/dining. Lakeside walks are serene.
* **Nearby Attractions:** **Taihu Ancient Town** (night shows/fireworks), **Longemont Adventure Park** (zoo, circus, water park—plan a full day).
## ❤️ Personal Take
Though the hotel shows its age, its iconic "Moon" status, unparalleled lake views, family perks (hot springs/kids' club), and resort vibe make it worthwhile. Holiday price surges and service lags slightly dampen the experience.
