Taihu Lake Scenic Route - Exploring Huzhou

Recently saw many posts about Huzhou's new viral check-in spots along Taihu Lake on social media 📚

🐈 Couldn't resist the itch..
Had to visit before it gets too hot~

🐾🐾 Itinerary:
Self-drive from Jiaxing ➡️ About 1.5-2 hours one way..
1. 🚦Huzhou's Little Kamakura
-- The romantic traffic light leading to Taihu Lake
Navigate to "Huzhou Bafu Ecological Agriculture", then 150m ahead
The traffic light by the lake will be on your left..
Turn right into a small road for temporary parking to take photos
-- Has pedestrian crossing, so relatively safe for photos
For shots with tree foliage framing, stand in the middle of the path but watch for passing vehicles
-- Free admission & parking
-- 15 minutes recommended for photos
PS: Best visited on sunny days when the lake appears bluer against the sky~

2.🗽Xingangkou Lighthouse
Continue driving along Taihu Lake..
Navigate directly to Xingangkou Lighthouse (currently under maintenance)
Park below the construction fence (also under the bridge), walk up to see the red-white lighthouse
-- Free admission & parking (but avoid illegal parking)
-- 15-20 minutes recommended, best shots on sunny days~

3.⛵Fisherman's Wharf
Located in Huzhou Taihu Tourism Resort..
Facing the landmark Moon Square and "Pearl of Taihu" (Sheraton Hot Spring Resort) across the water
Navigate to "T Island Fusion Restaurant" for best lake views
-- Free entry but some experiences (boats, lakeside dining) require payment
-- Though Moon Square is just 1km away, we drove there after photos as only first 30 mins parking is free~

4.🌙Moon Square
In Wuxing District's Taihu Road..
Connected to viral landmark "Moon Hotel" (Sheraton), featuring horseshoe-shaped architecture with night light shows reflecting on the lake like "moon in water"
Includes fountain axis, lawn, Rainbow Bridge, and China-Japan-Korea Friendship Forest
-- Moon Bridge connects to Fisherman's Wharf, perfect for night reflection shots
-- Rainbow Bridge's high point offers panoramic lake views, especially beautiful at sunset with night lights

Free admission (some activities require fees)
Parking: Free first 30 mins, then 10RMB/car (5-seater) for up to 4 hours
PS: Several restaurants in front - we tried a noodle shop with 7.9% discount on Wednesdays
-- Allow 2-3 hours for lunch and exploration..

5.🏯Taihu Ancient Town
In Changxing County's Taihu Longemont Paradise..
A Jiangnan-style water town replica with free admission, famous for night views and performances
-- Free all day (some shows like "Charming Taihu" require tickets)
Features:
• Water dance shows (nightly performances combining fountains/lights/music)
• Intangible cultural heritage displays: Iron flower fireworks, bamboo drifting
• Traditional crafts: Embroidery, sugar figurines
• Folk performances: Bride selection by tossing embroidered ball, Guozhuang dance (after 16:00)

Fireworks: Currently only on Saturday nights (except holidays)

North Gate tower is iconic with photogenic symmetrical architecture
"Wanfu Pagoda" (11-story octagonal tower) is photogenic though currently not open for climbing

🅿 Parking: 20RMB per entry..

Note: Weekdays can be quiet with many shops closed - best visited at night for lights, shows and fireworks..

🚗🚗..
Perfect day trip, heading home now~
